Wharf T&T launches cloud-based business collaboration platform

Wharf T&T, a Hong Kong-based telecoms and ICT service provider, today launched an IBM LotusLive-powered online business communications platform.
The bMail collaboration solution will comprise social networking and collaboration services targeting at business of all sizes.
bMail will be delivered through business broadband, and will form part of WharfT&T's IT-as-a-Service (ITaaS) ("+EN" Fibre-to-the-Desk infrastructure) launched earlier this year. The messaging and collaboration features such as Web-based email, contacts and calendaring, file sharing and instant messaging as well as online conferencing.
In 2010, Wharf T&T committed to an HK$1 billion (US$12.85 million) "+Enterprise Network" ("+EN") investment project to leapfrog its fixed network infrastructure and provide "Fibre-to-the-Desk" ("FTTD") ultra high-speed broadband services to Hong Kong business customers, and pioneering the development of subscription-based IT-as-a-Service (ITaaS) applications.

The bMail collaboration solution includes bMail for online business email services for companies of all sizes, bConnect for online collaboration with intra and inter-company, file sharing and instant messaging and bMeeting for online conferencing with people in multiple locations.
It is equipped with backup and resilience features that help guard against virus and malicious spam attacks. It also offers commercial instant messaging within pre-defined communities, a centralized account management portal as well as integrated collaborative services including group calendar, online meeting, file sharing and file archiving.
