Singapore-based Fraser and Neave (F&N) will migrate its 3,000 employees to Google Apps' cloud-based email to enhance staff collaboration and productivity.
F&N, which operates property, food and beverage and printing businesses, is the listed subsidiary of Malaysia-based beverage maker F&N Holdings Bhd, which migrated 2,000 employees to Google Apps last year.
F&N's migration to a scalable cloud-based email is expected to benefit mobile sales and marketing representatives that need instant access to information from any device and anywhere in the world. F&N's employees will use Google's collaboration tools including Google Talk, Google Sites and Google Docs, which will allow them to communicate and share ideas. With Google Docs, for example, multiple workers can collaborate on a document simultaneously; hence increase productivity by freeing the staff from updating different versions of a file.
Roger Tan, F&N's head of corporate IT, said "We're excited to expand on the Google Apps deployment and are confident of a smooth migration to the cloud for the rest of the organization. With Google Apps, we make available a powerful and innovative tool that enables collaboration in new ways, changing the way we do businesses internally and with our external stakeholders."
