RemedyForce formed under Salesforce.com-BMC joint venture

Salesforce.com and BMC Software today announced RemedyForce, a new joint venture on cloud-based IT service management to be added to the Force.com portfolio.
The core functionality of RemedyForce is to provide an IT service desk on Force.com with a set of IT service management capabilities with optimized performance tools.
The key features of RemedyForce include an IT service management suite optimized for salesforce.com and BMC customers that integrates core service desk capabilities with change management, knowledge management, and problem management applications. RemedyForce also provides "true service management" that comprises a configuration management database to provide the required "single source of truth." It also supports mobile access, reporting, and analytics.
Going by the joint venture, BMC and salesforce.com will support RemedyForce with joint sales, marketing, product certification, and implementation programs.
