Iress selects Equinix to aid global expansion

Iress, an Australia-headquartered financial services technology provider, is offering its market data, access, trading and wealth solutions services on Platform Equinix. The deployments in Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers in Hong Kong, Singapore and London are part of the company's global expansion, complementing existing deployments in Toronto and Sydney.
Iress supplies financial markets and wealth management systems in Australia, Asia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa and the United Kingdom, employing more than 650 staff in 14 offices worldwide.
With the new deployments, Iress hopes to build service delivery environments that are less complex, more cost-efficient and higher performing. Equinix's global data center network connectivity with established financial ecosystems will provide Iress with access to major stock and securities exchanges, and improved time to market, interconnecting with customers and partners located inside the IBX data centers.
"We have worked closely with Equinix since we first deployed in its IBX data center in Toronto," said Andrew Walsh, CEO at Iress. "Over the past two decades, we have grown solidly by expanding our presence to bring localized services to our customers."
"We are excited ... to see the company expand its global business with Platform Equinix, through the dense network of service providers, vast ecosystem of exchanges and broad range of financial institutions," said Tony Simonsen, managing director of Equinix Australia.
