The Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing's Hosting Services Ecosystem added Verizon as one of the founding members.
HKEx is the holding company of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Futures Exchange and Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company.
HKEx's Hosting Services Ecosystem currently has 22 founding members in three broad categories: information vendors, technology vendors and network service providers.
Founding members can participate in the early set up of the hosting ecosystem at HKEx's Hosting Data Centre due to launch later this year. Members can also subscribe to the services offered by HKEx's next-generation data center, which broke ground in Hong Kong's Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate in July last year.
Network service providers alongside Verizon are China Telecom (Hong Kong) International, Hong Kong Telecommunications (HKT), Hutchison Global Communications, Pacnet, Wharf T&T, BT Radianz Services, IPC Systems, KVH and Transaction Network Services.
Connectivity and computing solutions
As part of ecosystem, Verizon will provide other members with low-latency connectivity and on-demand computing solutions and services for HKEx's new data center.
Targeted at global banks, hedge funds, market makers, pre- and post-trade service firms and money managers, the Verizon Financial Network Premier Low-Latency Service provides latency speeds at 14.5 milliseconds round-trip.
