FTS bolsters compliance, security for merchants

Financial Transaction Services (FTS), a full-service provider of electronic transaction processing services, has selected Trustwave to provide Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance validation solutions for its merchants and help them enhance security.
PCI DSS is the payment card industry's security requirement for entities that store, process, or transmit cardholder data, and has been endorsed by all the major credit card brands -- Visa, MasterCard Worldwide, Discover Network, American Express and JCB.
FTS merchants will access TrustKeeper PCI Manager, a security and compliance cloud portal. The portal simplifies merchants' compliance efforts by making the complex compliance process achievable for non-technical users. This helps facilitate PCI DSS compliance validation for merchants or acquirers, independent services organizations, and processors with large merchant populations.
"The majority of businesses do not have dedicated IT professionals - they are focused on the day-to-day running of their business," said Doug Klotnia, executive vice president of Payment Services at Trustwave. "Our tools and services make it easier for merchants to act immediately on PCI challenges and keep their acquirers in the loop on their current progress."
"We decided to convert to and standardize our programme on Trustwave because it offers the most comprehensive set of tools to help our merchants increase security and compliance," said Patrick Shanahan, COO of Financial Transaction Services.
TrustKeeper's PCI Wizard identifies gaps that need addressing in a To Do List and helps merchants to complete required vulnerability scans and receive their PCI DSS compliance certificate. Also included is an easy-to-download tool that helps merchants identify unencrypted cardholder data (such as primary account numbers) or stored track data on their system. The agent monitor compliance over time, with ongoing system checks that beacon back to TrustKeeper PCI Manager.
