Dell, CITIC Telecom CPC co-launch cloud services in APAC

Hong Kong-based ICT solutions provider CITIC Telecom International CPC partnered with Dell to launch cloud computing services Asia-Pacific enterprises today. 

Called Smartcloud, the new cloud services comprise a virtual server solution and collaboration services, including email, calendaring and other collaboration tools.

The new collaboration services are built on CITIC Telecom CPC's network, data center facilities and security solutions; together with Dell's cloud infrastructure and technologies.

With high availability disaster recovery capability, the Smartcloud Compute solution helps users to allocate resources where needed. Resource allocation is enabled by an online self-service console, called Smartcloud Compute Director, which acts as a virtual data center. 

As for collaboration, the Smartcloud Mail solution helps users to synchronize emails, calendars, contacts, files and documents in CITIC Telecom CPC's cloud computing platform. The collaboration SaaS, which offers 99.9% availability, is said to be compatible with various platform and hardware, including Windows, Mac and Linux OS, as well as smart phones and mobile devices.
